A Grundig TS1000 tape recorder - 4-track - with the serial number 10438 from 1977 is offered.
The machine was fully restored in November 2020 by TS1000 specialists. In addition to replacing all capacitive components, trimmers, some semiconductors, drive belts and pressure rollers, the machine has received a new digital counter. The 4-track head carrier is in mint condition.
The machine is delivered including a new cover hood. The original operating instructions, a power cable, a DIN connection kit to cinch, a headphone connection cable to 6.3mm jack are included.
The following work was carried out during the A revision:
1.) Electronic revision
- Exchange of all electrolytic capacitors, tantalum and ceramic capacitors
- Replacement of semiconductors, IC*s and inductions that are defective or no longer correspond to the specified value
- Complete revision of the power supply
- Complete revision of the capstan drive with adjustment to the correct tape speeds with 3,150Hz reference tape and Woelke WOW & FLUTTER meter.
- Installation of the electronic, microprocessor-controlled counter with tape running time display and tape preselection.
- Retrofitting VU meter switching pre- and rear band.
2.) Mechanical revision
- Ultrasonic cleaning of all frictions and deflections
- Remove all old lubrication in switches and brake relays
- Checking the target values for belt tension, adjustment
- Check and replace the ball bearings on the winding motors if necessary
- Cleaning the idler pulley bearings
- Lubrication according to factory specifications
- New pressure roller - (production 05-2020, sintered bronze bearing)
- New drive belt - Ribbon RED75S
- New counter belt - Ribbon RED75S
- Replacement of the VU lighting with special LEDs specified by us with a ground lens in cool white with 12,000 Kelvin at 10,000mCd.
- Installation of the on-board voltage tester DC-Meter on the service board
- New rubber inserts for the chrome feet
- New rubber case feet with cup insert
- New rubber dampers for the left/right cover hood
- Convert the front screw connection to TORX burnished stainless steel screws
- Convert rear panel screw connection to TORX stainless steel.
3.) Measurement
- Calibrating the TS1000 to the tape material RTM LPR 35 / SM911 and SM900
4.) Guarantee
- 6 months on the newly installed electronic components, the counter, VU meter switching and the capstan and counter belts
- Pressure roller 24 months on the pressure roller
The machine is shipped in a special transport case via UPS, which the buyer then has to send back to us using the enclosed return label.
